12 Days of Christmas

I hope you all had a fab Christmas and enjoyed the festivities. I promised to post the pages of my 12 days of Christmas album, well I was lagging behind a bit and managed to finish it last night, its a good job I kept some notes. Don't forget to bring yours to the next crop so we can all admire them.

I didn't included the journaling pages as it would have been too much to scan.

Keep an eye on the web for details of the next crop....
Have a good new year... Jackie*

Next Crop - 14th December

Hi Girls

AGM - thanks everyone who attended the AGM and for all your comments, suggestions and volunteering to help with the Crop, your contributions are greatly appreciated.
Chris and I would also like to thank everyone for the lovely note asking the AGM to record your thanks to us for putting together the 12 hour crop, it means a lot to us, we loved putting it all together and when it ended in such a fantastic day with such fantastic girls well it was worth it and we are also looking forward to the next one.

Hope you are all ready for the next crop. We'll be doing our first journaling page in our 12 Days of Christmas Album, we'll take a group photo and then everyone can get starting writing their first journaling page. Help will always be on hand so don't forget to ask if you need help. Don't forget to bring along the journals you made.

Christmas Party - some of you kindly offered to bring some food (I'll send an e-mail with the list of who is bringing what just in case you've forgotten), don't forget your party hats, tinsel and some music.

Circle Journal - anyone who hasn't put their name on the list and would like to take part please let me know - we'll be starting in January which will give everyone plenty of time to get prepared - details will be circulated during December.
Finally, if you missed any of the above and would like to take part ie: help with the crop, create the 12 days of Christmas Journal or join in the Circle Journal please send us an e-mail.
Look forward to seeing you all on the 14th.

Merry Christmas... Jackie

Next Crop - Sunday 23rd November

Hi everyone, next crop Sunday 23rd November 10.00am-4.00pm looking forward to seeing you all again.

We will be holding our AGM at 12.00 on Sunday. The agenda will include an update on the Crop accounts, nominations for Committee Members, dates for next year's crops, 12 hour crop, projects and kits for next year etc. If you have anything to add or you think would be of interest to the Crop please let me know.

Project:
As we are nearing Christmas I thought I'd give you all a challenge to create an album and journal your 12 days leading up to Christmas. We will start on Sunday creating the album, decorating the covers and getting the pages prepared ready to start journaling at our next crop on the 14th December. I know some of you aren't keen on journaling but this album will be made by YOU for YOU so you can write as little or as much as you like, inlcude all sorts of pictures, magazine cuttings, tags, cards etc and you don't have to show it to anyone. So I hope you will all join in and have some fun.

Supplies required are:
2 - 6"x6" pieces of chipboard (we will be able to supply these)
Plain cardstock to create 13 - 6"x6" pages - any colour (there is plenty bazzill cardstock in the shop and we have some lovely red and green which will make great Christmas pages)
Patterned Papers to cover the album covers (inside and out) - Christmas papers would be great
Embellishments to decorate the cover
The album can be bound using the Bind-it-All, bookrings or ribbon
You can also make your album any size - choice is yours

I would be grateful if you could e-mail me at isabellacrop@hotmail.co.uk if you want to take part and require the covers so we can order the right amount of chipboard - thanks.
Any questions please give me a call or e-mail, looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday 23rd.

Jackie*

Last Sneaky Peak

This will probably be the last sneaky peak ... well we'll see .... I may post some more but you will have to wait and see.

This is an example from the Distressing Class, you won't be making this exact mini book but shown how to make and distress the cover and pages, you probably won't have time to create a whole album but you will be given enough materials to make the basic book below and an 8"x8" Album. All the paint, inks etc will be provided for you to use during the class. This class will be fun so be prepared for lots of messy work, you may wish to bring an apron and some baby wipes.

So first colour sneaky peak is from the free or included kit. Some gorgeous red patterned paper with black and cream cardstock, the kit will go with any theme as you will see from our examples on the day. Watch out for the next sneaky peak in a couple of days.

Crop Project

Chris and I have been busy sorting out the 12 Hour Crop, so we have cheated (just a little) for this months project and taken two maps from the Becky Fleck “Page Maps” website, there are lots of great page examples so pop along and have a look her site @ http://www.pagemaps.com./

We will be creating something a bit different, two round scrapbook pages, they are really easy to do, that’s why there are two, I’m sure they will make an interesting addition to your scrapbook and will easily fit into 12”x12” page protectors.

ROUND PAGE #1
6”x5” photo
1 sheet 12x12 cardstock
2 sheets coordinating cardstock/papers
Die-cut flowers or suitable other embellishments
Journaling tag
Ribbon
Brads
Lettering for title

ROUND PAGE #2
5”x7.5” photo
1 sheet 12x12 cardstock
1 sheet patterned cardstock
Ribbon
Large flower or other embellishment
Diamantes, brads or doodling (for the circles)
Lettering for titles/journaling

Here are a couple of examples.

You will need the following supplies to complete the project:

Refreshments as always are included but don’t forget lunch if you are staying all day.

Hope to see you all on the 6th July … Jackie*

Stitching Layouts

Sorry for the delay in posting pics of your layouts, too much to do and not enought time. Here are some of the fantastic layouts you did at the last crop, the stitching was great at keeping everyone quiet, some even went outside and sitched in the sunshine. Unfortunately the pictures don't show the stitching very well.

How time flies … its that time again, next Crop Sunday 8th June 10.00am – 4.00pm.

Cardstock pieces to mount photos
Chalk ink
Photographs (no specific size or number)
Pokey tool & soft mat
Embroidery silk (eg: Anchor or DMC) – choose a colour to match your layout
Suitable sewing needle
Flowers for embellishments
Lettering for title
Swirl template if you have one
Supplies required for Machine Stitching
2 – sheet 12”x12” co-ordinating plain cardstock
1 – sheet 12”x12” patterned cardstock/paper
1 – 6”x6” (approx) photograph
Flowers cut from co-ordinating cardstock or other embellishments to suit your layout
Selection of brads
Sewing machine thread to match layout
Chalk inks
Lettering for title

Don’t worry if you don’t have all the supplies, as usually there is plenty of cardstock, papers, sticky stuff etc in our shop and lots equipment available to borrow.

Refreshments included but don’t forget lunch if you are staying all day.

See you all on the 8th June … Jackie*

I hope you all enjoyed making and have finished your clear album, please bring them along to the crop I'd love to see the finished product. We could also do with getting some photos to put onto the blog.

At the crop we are going to make a lovely layout with ribbons, eyelets, flowers and some printed journaling using the PC. We thought some of you might like to learn how to use your PC to print directly onto cardstock, so we'll show you how. So search out a lovely poem or some journaling to go with your photo.

To make the layout you will need the following:
3 pieces of 12x12 plain or patterned co-ordinating cardstock
Eyelets
Brads - various colours/sizes
Photo 6"X4" approx
Small piece of cardstock to mount photo
Small pieces of co-ordinating ribbons
Flowers (various colours and sizes) or other embellishments to decorate (don't forget we have a few flower dies at the crop that you could use)
Suitable poem or journaling

We have just received a new supply of Bazzill cardstock so there will be lots of new colours and replacements for the ones that everyone seems to use, just in case you havn't got anything suitable in your stash.

Also don't forget its National Scrapbooking Day next Saturday 3rd May, so put down the duster and leave the washing for another day and get together with your friends and spend the day scrapping.

Look forward to seeing you all again on the 11th May. Have fun .. Jackie***
